About Us
Witches Closet is a
small, two-person business dedicated to skill in craftsmanship, honor in
service, and friendly professional relationships with all of our customers.
We strive to accomplish what we feel is often lacking in the Renaissance
clothing world - affordable, high-quality, tailored garments sturdy and
comfortable enough to wear everyday! It is our goal that each and every
customer will be absolutely delighted with their purchases. Our many
repeat customers let us know that we are accomplishing that goal.
We find great joy in
designing new garments and for creating that perfect look for our customers!
If you are looking for your first garb to wear to faire, an outfit to fill out
your Renaissance wardrobe, a perfect Ritual garment, a special look for your
LARP or SCA character, a Halloween costume, or your own everyday look - you've
come to the right place. Whether you need one simple chemise or two dozen
outfits for your school, play, or wedding, we are happy to help!

Liz
Liz
is our Finance Minister, Designer, Planner, and the creative mind behind
Dragon's Den and all of the creations and tales there. With a background
in espionage, wildland fire fighting, horse training, dog sledding, hiking, and
camping (just to name a few) - she draws from a knowledgeable and rich base for
her writings as well as her many nature-based creations.
Equally comfortable with a sword, bow, or staff, it
will be her you have to talk to if you don't pay your bill! :-)
Laura
Laura
is our Customer Service Rep, Computer Hacker, sometimes poet, and Potions
Master. Laura's background includes computer management, graphic design, horse
training, dog sledding, hiking, camping, and a life-long pursuit of herbal
knowledge. If it grows, comes from the earth, or heals in any way - it has
Laura's interest.
It is Laura you will most
often communicate with and who keeps this site up and running.
Dreamers
We are dreamers in a world gone wrong,
Believing in stories of worlds long gone.
Other worlds are out there for the bold,
Full of honor and bravery, we're told!
If you believe in dragons, and such,
Then you believe, much like us
That other worlds are there to explore,
If only we could find the door!
Find me a wizard that knows the Stone,
And we could travel to worlds unknown!
Sisters
Though born not kin,
Something within,
Calls us as sisters to the end.
Earth is our Mother, so we are told,
And Sun is our Father, fiery and bold.
Our Brother Wind, no man can hold,
And Sister Water holds secrets untold.
Though not sisters by birth, we spent most
of our childhood as such. No other words could describe our relationship
better than those in the poem above. Having tried living separate lives
and finding something always lacking, we finally gave in to the will of the Gods
and now live and work together in a small cabin surrounded by our wonderful sled
dogs and horses.
We consider ourselves unusually lucky to be
able to create the life we choose. We are extremely rich in friends and a
huge combined family!

Critters
Nothing in the worlds is more important to
us than our critters. We've dedicated a lifetime to learning all we could
about the magnificent animals we call friends! We've shown our horses in
the performance and dressage arenas and on the jump course and have logged
thousands of miles on the trails and in the back country.
The dog obsession started out with showing
AKC registered Samoyeds, Siberian Huskies, and Norwegian Elkhounds and running a
dog rescue, but quickly turned to sledding.
There are not enough words in the dictionary to
describe the feel of runners under your feet and the complete connection of a
whole team of dogs and one human in perfect
union. The silence of winter, except for the swoosh of your runners and
the quiet rhythm of the dogs is nothing short of a spiritual experience.
We have been running, training, and racing
sled dogs for 18 years. In that time the dogs have taught us more about
team work than any coach ever dreamed of! Providing the best possible
care, feed, and training is only a part of what makes a winning team!
Unity and complete trust are what make our teams so special!
