All of our skirts are made with quality material. Many, many colors are available - we've only listed the most popular here - email us at witchescloset@kvalley.com if you don't see a color you'd like. All seams are serged for maximum durability.
Please note that the gathered,
gored, and over skirts will come to you unhemmed (the four corner skirt will be
hemmed), unless you specifically request it hemmed. We highly recommend having
the skirts hemmed once you get them home to assure a proper fit. Hemmed skirts
are not returnable.
Full Skirts
Gathered vs. Gored Skirts:
Gored skirts are more slim in the waist - meaning less bulk under your bodice -
and flare out to a very full hem. They look great over hoop skirts, but do not
provide that traditional "full" look without hoop skirts. Gathered skirts are
full from the waist down and fit well over a hoop skirt, but also look really
full without a hoop. Gathered skirts are traditional Renaissance wear.
Traditional Gathered Skirt. Made of 4 yards of quality 100% cotton and pleated into a casing for comfort, this skirt fits beautifully over a hoop and is also very full without one. The skirt comes with a hidden drawstring waist using heavy cord through two grommets. The fabric is reinforced at the grommets for a long-lasting, durable skirt. Wooden beads at the ends of the cord keep it from slipping into the casing (elastic is available at no additional charge, just request it with your payment). For a different look, try wearing two skirts, tucking the top one in to show part of the bottom one! You guys made a couple of bodices and skirts for me and a tunic and pants for my son. They are awesome and have worn really well, our first event we were head to toe in mud and everything came out looking great!
Basic Skirt: This basic 3 yard gathered skirt in made of a poly cotton blend - light weight and easy to care for. The skirt comes with a hidden drawstring waist using heavy cord through two grommets. The fabric is reinforced at the grommets for a long-lasting, durable skirt. Wooden beads at the ends of the cord keep it from slipping into the casing. All seams are serged to prevent fray. 4 Gore Skirt: This full skirt measures nearly 5 yards at the hem, making it large enough to wear with a hoop skirt but slim and non-bulky at the waist. The skirt comes with a hidden drawstring waist using heavy black cord through 2 grommets and will be sized at the waist. The fabric is reinforced at the grommets for a long-lasting, durable skirt. There is a wooden bead at each end of the cord to prevent it from slipping into the casing (elastic is available at no additional charge, just request it with your payment). Over Skirts Overskirt/Split skirt: Made of a full 3 yards, this skirt also looks very nice with a hoop skirt. It's open in the front to show the underskirt or chemise. This skirt closes with a drawstring waist - with beads on the end of the cord to keep it from slipping into the casing. You can adjust how much of your underskirt shows by moving the edges closer together or further apart on the drawstring. The waist will fit 20" to 50" - if you need a larger waist size, just make a note of it on your payment. Four Corner Skirt: What a lovely way to liven up an outfit! This darling skirt dips down to 4 separate points, curving up gracefully in between. The points come to about the knee. Extra Long Four Corner Skirt: Want to add even more layers? The extra long four corner is built like the regular four corner skirt above, but it's - well - longer! Divided Riding Skirt/Hakama: Yes, you really can ride horses in these skirts! They are made with 4 yards of 100% cotton in any color. All seams are serged for long lasting wear. This style also does double duty as a modern hakama for the martial artist. The inseam will be 35" unhemmed and will be serged to prevent fray. Please note that the riding skirt will come to you unhemmed, unless you specifically request it hemmed. We highly recommend having the skirt hemmed once you get them home to assure a proper fit.
